How to plan my journey?

From the search form on the homepage, you can specify a starting point indicating the town, stop, place or address desired, and a point of arrival following the same principle.  You can then select the desired departure date. By default, it shows the current date. Then a departure time or arrival time (but not both). You can also change the search options by clicking on "more options". In any case, Auvergne Mobilité, multimodal journey planner, searches the optimum route that allows to leave or arrive around the requested time (before and after). A route can also be created or edited directly from the card. A left-click on any place creates a point of departure or arrival. These points can then be freely changed by dragging the cursor.

Have the transport modes to be selected or unselected ?

By default, all the public transport modes are included to calculate the route. For specific needs (using bike or car on a part of the trip for instance), you can unselect one or several transport modes. You have to know that in this case, some route options will not be proposed.

How to understand the proposed results?

Auvergne Mobilité, multimodal route planner, systematically offers several solutions for your search. These are based on your search criteria (date, time) and your imperatives (leave before or arrive after).
• Auvergne Mobilité, multimodal route planner, automatically highlights as soon as possible a recommended journey fitting your search.
• Icons represent different modes of transport (buses, trains, ...) you will have to borrow for your trip.
• To know the details of your route and display your road map, click on the solution to display the details of your itinerary.
You can always change your search criteria by clicking on "edit".

What is the geographical area covered?

Searching for routes or schedules is available on the whole Auvergne region. Note that outside of this perimeter, only search by train station is possible. Some links refer to the journey planner of bordering territories. For the transport networks integrated in Auvergne Mobilité, multimodal route planner, please see partners' networks.

Why do not I do a complete trio by car?

Auvergne Mobility is firstly a tool for searching multimodal routes through the public transport supply. Personal car or bike nevertheless allow staff to join your starting point towards a car park or parking bike relay (P + R or P + B), if they are connected to the public transport network. The maximum distance that can be covered by car before joining a public transit stop is 20 kilometers. Complete journeys by bike or walking can instead be offered.

What can I enter as a point of departure or arrival?

Auvergne Mobilité allows you to search for routes to or from:

  • a postal address in the Auvergne region and towns added to the region.
  • a transport stop served by one of the Auvergne Mobilité's partners networks.
  • a public place or a point of interest (town hall, school, hospital, theater ...) entered in the system.

For the search to be more effective, it is better to enter two informations on your point of departure or arrival : a town and then an address, a public place or a transport stop.

How is calculated the CO2 equivalent?

The Auvergne Mobilité route planner calculates the CO2 emissions of your itinerary and so be aware of the environmental impact of your journey. The calculation of the CO2 production is calculated according to the distances traveled and according to the average coefficients of CO2 production per transport mode (TGV train: 2.5 * GEC / km Train: 37.4 GEC / km, Tramway 61.3GEC / km bus: 101.7 GEC / km Car: 101.7 GEC / km, Busway: 105.3 GEC / km, Mini bus: 128.1 GEC / km Car: 183.5 GEC / km Plane: GEC 311.9 / km)
These coefficients are from the work of ADEME.
